That's ONE ...each

Mets and Cards take Game One of their respective National League Division Series'.

The Redbirds padded a 1-0 lead, that John Lackey had masterfully held through 7-1/3 innings, with a pair of homers from rookies who certainly weren't expected by many to contribute in the postseason on Opening Day.

Tommy Pham, pinch hitting for Kevin Siegrist , who'd struck out the 2 Cubs hitters he was tasked with facing in the eighth, homered (431 ft.) to deep left center to make it a 2-0 St. Louis lead and Stephen Piscotty homered (406 ft.) to deep left, driving in Matt Carpenter who'd walked ahead of him to give the Cards a 4-0 lead.

Facing Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers in LA, Mets hurler Jake DeGrom fanned 13 over 7 shutout innings helped by a clutch 2 out 2 run single from "The Captain" David Wright in the 7th which when added to Daniel Murphy's solo homer in the 4th was enough to give the Orange and Blue an all important  3-1 road win in their Best of 5 NLDS.

This evening both clubs shoot for 2-0 leads and again I'll be at Busch albeit with thought s of my late friend and Cardinal fan, Bob weighing heavily on my mind ,,,,

As Always Let's Go Mets   Go Cards !!!!
