Bucs & Phucks !!!

While the Redbirds head into Pittsburgh having taken 2 of 3 from the Braves in Atlanta after somehow losing 2 of 3 to the "hated" Cubs on Chi Town's northside and making some more let's call then interesting moves by calling up another outfielder who ISN'T Oscar Tavaras,  the Mets head home with their collective tails between their legs to face the "hated" Philadelphia team after being swept in Miami (Twice in WALK OFF Fashion)

St. Louis has brought up right-handed-hitting outfielder Joey Butler whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Memphis to replace rookie outfielder Randal Grichuk, who was optioned to Memphis on Thursday
Meanwhile the Mets bullpen woes will apparently continue as is (AWFUL) since they've announced that Wilmer Flores, the organization's fourth-ranked player on MLB.com's 2014 Prospect Watch, will join the Mets in advance of Friday's game. The Mets designated infielder Omar Quintanilla for assignment Wednesday to clear roster space.
Flores has played mostly second and third base in recent years but will seemimgly get an opportunity to be the full time shortstop since manager Terry Collins has said in the past that Flores should be in the Majors only if he is playing every day.  Flores should be the SS  despite concerns about his defensive range and quite simply, incumbent shortstop Ruben Tejada is batting .188 with a .521 OPS in 96 plate appearances and a solid glove while Flores brings a pretty solid bat. (.307 avg .860 OPS thus far at Las Vegas) Oh and the fact that the Mets didn’t really try to bring in a “real” SS like Stephen Drew, who, by the way, still is unsigned.
