Pride..Is there any left?

After losing 2 of three to the Brewers at Miller Park the Mets come home to face the "rival' Philadelphia Phillies in what is now a mere pillow fight in the NL East.

The Phils sit 6-1/2 games ahead of the Flushing Failures in third place in the division and are trying to become relevant in the battle for the NL's second wild card postseason berth (4 games back of sluggish St. Louis) while the Mets hold a slim 1-1/2 game lead over the horrendous Marlins for 4th place in the division.

As GM Alderson and his band of henchmen prepare for yet another off season of frugality, my guess is that "manager" Collins will continue to trot out the same atrocities, the likes of whom include Andres Torres, Jason Bay and Josh Thole, that he's been calling a MLB lineup all year while insisting the club hasn't "given up" while they have been mathematically eliminated.

As always, we keep the faith and hope the Orange & Blue can somehow play "spoiler", a far too familiar role, and kick the Phillies post season chances in the groin.
