Back 2 Back Shutouts? 3 Stars 6/2

Following the remarkable, historical, first no hitter in Mets history on Friday night, RA Dickey did his best to live up to the new (unrealistic) expectations of Mets pitchers on Saturday afternoon at Citi Field.

Dickey backed by some timely hitting and a David Wright home run tossed a baffling 7 hit shutout of the St. Louis Cardinals as a "mini" encore to Johan Santana's Friday night no hitter.

Some poor defense from the Cards afforded Dickey a 3 run cushion in the second inning and the knuckleballer took the reins the rest of the way as the Mets took the second of this 4 game series with the defending World Series champions.

The two clubs meet again Sunday night in the ESPN national game which will be preceeded by the induction of Johnny Franco into the Mets Hall of Fame.

Jon Niese will attempt to keep up the momentum provided by Santana and Dickey,  but 3 shutouts in a row.....???

As Always...  LET'S GO METS !!
