Wednesday brought opportunities for both the Mets and the locals (St. Louis Cardinals) to complete three game road series' sweeps.

The Mets completed their SWEEP by coming back to win, 10-6,  against 3 relievers in Philadelphia after being held to 2 runs by Cliff Lee for 6 innings in his return from the DLt.  The win not only marked the Mets' first 3 game sweep in Philly since 2006  but also the club's MLB leading eleventh comeback win of 2012.

A little later in the evening the Cards were less dramatic in completing their own 3 game road sweep with a 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks in Phoenix behind the continued impressive offense and a solid start from Kyle Lohse (who experienced some hamstring soreness running the bases in the 5th inning).  St. Louis again got a significant boost from recently returned Allen Craig who capped a four run 9th by banging out a 2 run homer in St Louis' 4th straight win.  David Freese continued his torrid start with three hits.

Both clubs will be off Thursday with the Redbirds taking a "Happy Flight " home to meet the Braves Friday on Tony LaRussa night at Busch.  The future Hall of Fame manager will have his number 10 retired.

The Mets will head to Miami to see Jose Reyes and company on Friday!

As Always
