From Thursday's Loss to the Padres, here are:

After the Mets dropped the rubber game of their home series against San Diego they now head to the desert to face the NL West leading D-Backs. This Mets team finds itself virtually out of any possible playoff berth and hopes to play competitive baseball for the remaining 44 games (hopefully at or above .500) before heading into an off season riddled with the huge
Jose Reyes "will he stay or will he go" question.

Meanwhile here in St. Louis the Cards managed to salvage the finale of their big series with Milwaukee on the shoulders of (once again) Chris Carpenter(8 innings 2ER) and Albert Pujols ( 4-4 with a HR and 2 RBI).

The Redbirds host he Rockies in a weekend series at Busch sitting 4 games behind Milwaukee in the NL Central.
