From Tuesday's loss to Pirates here are:

Manager Terry Collins apparently decided to go with his "heart" and allowed RA Dickey to face Neil Walker with the base loaded in the eighth inning last night although he had Jason Isringhausen warmed in the bullpen.. As countless fans and broadcasters have said in the past, "Why have the reliever up and warming if you're not going to use him"?

Of course Walker delivered a 2 run single to insert the dagger into yet another Mets game lost by the manager's decision. This was one more "win" that the Mets "let get away".. leading in the 7th inning and giving up the lead and then some as the fan base is left once again wondering just what the hell is going on with this team.

The loss took the luster off what had been a gutty, solid performance from Dickey who was pitching through the pain of plantar fasciitis and a multi hit noght from the recently activated Angel Pagan. The game also saw Jason Bay actually drive in the Mets only run.

In downtown St. Louis, the Redbirds rallied for 3 runs in the eighth inn to overcome a 3-1 deficit in taking the 2nd game of the four game series against the defending champion SF Giants.

In a correction from yesterday's post, "Little Timmie Hippie" Lincecum will face Jake Westbrook tonight in the 3rd game of the series.

I'll be at Busch tonight.. so stop back for the regular Mets chat with a little Cards and Giants thrown in...
