3 Stars, Bullpen woes & Jaimania

From Last night's loss to the Braves at Citi Field,
here are YOUR METS 3 Stars of the Game:

Once again the Mets bullpen failed to hold a lead in the 7th inning or later. This time manager Terry Collins had player help in once again proved his ineptitude by removing starter Jon Niese who'd gotten 2 outs in the top of the 8th inning (even though he allowed yet another Chipper Jones homer) only to see Jason Isringhausen (along with a Wild Pitch that should have been ruled a passed ball by Josh Thole and a ground ball that got past Jose Reyes for an error) allow Atlanta an unearned run which tied the game and closer Francisco Rodriguez gave up 3 runs in the 9th to take the loss.

Here in steamy St. Louis, Jaime Garcia held the Cubs to 4 hits and a single run while striking out 8 over 8 innings in giving the Cardinals yet another solid start. Garcia earned his 6th win of the season and continues to prove he may be the "Ace" of the staff while getting support from Lance Berkman and Albert Pujols home runs en route to a 6-1 win.

The Mets will again host the Brave tonight at Citi while the Cubs will once again face the Redbirds in what looks to be another scorcher at Busch this afternoon.
