On the evening that I was fortunate/smart enough to pick as our night to see "Jersey Boys" at the Fabulous Fox theatre here in St. Louis (A Fantastic show, even with the lead being played by the understudy, which saw me, the half assed crippled guy, on my feet, with a Jersey tear in my eye, clapping and singing along to "December 1963, Oh What A Night", "Big Girls Don't Cry", Walk Like A Man ", "Working My Way Back To You" and more of the great Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons songs) I was spared the live pain and torture of watching the Mets give the Cubs a ridiculously easy victory in Chicago.
My twitter posting for votes in this little daily "feature" received responses ranging from ..."Sorry, but the Mets didn't have 3 good players", "There wasn't even one star" to "Nah, think I'll pass tonight." Despite the comments, I did receive 13 votes which when tabulated resulted in the following offering of YOUR Mets 3 Stars of the Game from Tuesday night's debacle in the Windy City.
Based on the current weather in Chicago, we’ll hopefully see young Dillon Gee try to pitch the now publicly acknowledged cash strapped Mets past the Cubbies.
As for the local St. Louis Cardinals, upon arriving home from the “theatre” I was able to catch the end of the Cardinals eleven inning 3-2 victory over the Padres in San Diego, thereby ensuring themselves of at least a .500 western road trip that will see the Redbirds face San Diego today before 3 games in Denver against the Rockies before returning home to face the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants beginning on Memorial Day here in St. Louis.
