Bloom off the Dickey?

RA Dickey's coming to light as the Met's #4 or arguably #3 starter started off with the knucleballing righty picking up wins in 6 of 7 starts after being called up in late May as John Maine and O.... Perez were injured and/or ineffective. Since his last victory on June 23 against Detroit, he has thrown 18-2/3 innings allowing only 8 earned runs on 20 hits while striking oout 13 and issuing 6 walk, Dickey has only 2 losses to show for his effort as the Mets have been outscored 2- - 10 in those last 3 starts.

The Braves touched up RA for 2 late HRs (only the 3rd & 4th he's surrendered this year)last night as Dickey took his 2nd loss of the year.

Is the enigma that is RA Dickey becoming ordinary? Has the bloom come off of RA after just 10 starts for the Mets this season? I doubt it, but with the history of fringe starting pitchers with this club, it is certainly not out of the question..

Big Pelf throws for the Mets against veteran Tim Hudson in this afternoon's middle game of this series leading into the All Star Break. The Mets at 47-39 find themselves 4 games behind Atlanta (51-35).
