O's Knuckle Under to Dickey

RA Dickey took the mound Friday night in Baltimore's Oriole Park at Camden Yards attempting to get the Mets a rare road win and start to a 9 game "road" trip through phase 2 of MLB's forced interleague match ups.

Dickey answered the Mets "Call to Duty" by throwing 75 of his 112 pitches for strikes over 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits, striking out a career high 8 O's and walking 1 in earning his 4th win in the Mets 5 -1 victory.

In his first start as a big league DH Chris "Animal' Carter provided all the offense the Mets would need with a 4th inning 3 run home run deep to right.
David "Ducky" Wright added 3 hits while driving in 2.

Perpetual Pedro Feliciano provided some 8th inning histrionics, allowing 3 hits but managing to escape unscathed inducing a double play grounder from ex-Met Ty Wigginton and getting Matt Wieters to strike out swinging with 2 men on.

K-Rod finished up striking out the side in the 9th surrounding a Corey Patterson double..

The win moved the Mets (33-28) a game and a half behind the first place Braves who lost to the Twins.

Hisanori Takahashi (4-2, 3.80) will take the ball tonight opposed by Orioles 2nd year lefty Brian Matusz (2-5, 5.10)

First Pitch from Orioles Park is set for 7:05 ET.
