Niese has Padres yell Uncle!

Jon Niese is proving to be well deserved of a place in this Mets rotation..
In a reversal of fortunes..sort of, the Padres were held to one bas runner(a 3rd inning lead off double off the bat of Chris Denorfia) by Niese as he tossed the Mets 34th 1 hitter..(still no no no's).. for his first career complete game.
The Mets scored once in the 2nd and twice in the 3rd to provide all the offense Niese would need to notch his third win in 5 decisions..
Jose Reyes was 3 for 4 with a SB and scored the Mets' third run in the nitecap making him 4 for 8 on the day..
Ike Davis produced with a 2 for 4 game driving in the Mets final run..
Niese threw 76 of his 108 pitches for strikes to get the Mets back to within 2-1/2 games of 1st place Atlanta
The game also featured a 5 - 4 - 3 Triple play turned by the Padres off of a ground ball hit by Ruben Tejada.
The 2 hour 16 minute game closed out a split of the doubleheader.
Mets are on to Baltimore for 3 versus the 17-43 Orioles who've lost 8 of their last 10 beating the Yankees tonight 4-3.
R.A. Dickey will take his knuckleballing 3-0 record against Jeremy Guthrie (3-6) in Friday's interleague series opener at Camden Yards at 7:05 EDT ..
